Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Short version: most tools run entirely in your browser, so what you type usually never reaches us. Here are the details.
In-browser processing
The majority of our tools process your input locally in your browser using JavaScript. Text you paste, numbers you enter, and files you load into a client-side tool are not uploaded to our servers and are not stored by us. When a tool genuinely requires server processing, we state that clearly on the tool’s page and delete any uploaded data promptly after processing.
What we collect
- Cookieless analytics. We may use a privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics tool (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics or Plausible) that records only aggregate, non-personal usage — for example page views, referrer, and approximate country-level location. It sets no cookies, does not track you across sites, and never collects what you type into a tool.
- Advertising. We currently show no advertising and set no advertising cookies. If we introduce ads in the future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before any non-essential or advertising cookies are used.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting may record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and requested pages for security and reliability.
- What we don’t collect. We don’t require accounts, and we don’t ask for personal information to use a tool.
Local storage
Some tools offer to remember your preferences or recent inputs using your browser’s local storage. That data stays on your device, and you can clear it any time through your browser or the tool’s “clear” option.
Cookies, advertising, and third parties
We currently run no advertising and set no advertising or tracking cookies. Any analytics we use is cookieless (see above). If and when we introduce ads or cookie-based analytics, those providers may set cookies or use similar technologies; we will update this policy first and present a consent option where your region (such as the EEA, UK, or California) requires one. Our Advertising Policy explains how ads are placed.
Children
HIFreeTools is a general-audience utility site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
You can use most tools without providing any personal data, block cookies in your browser, and clear local storage at will. For questions or data requests, email [email protected].
Your privacy rights (EEA/UK/California)
Because most tools run in your browser, we hold little or no personal data about you. Where applicable law — such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA — gives you rights over personal data, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold, and object to or restrict its processing. California residents may opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email [email protected]; we may need to verify it before responding.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. We’ll revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
